A delegation from the Goa Management Association (GMA) visited the Pai Kane Group’s Banda manufacturing facility on April 23, 2025, as part of its ongoing industry outreach and learning initiatives. The objective of the visit was to gain first-hand insights into the Group’s best-in-class manufacturing processes, export-driven approach, and innovations in power solutions.

Founded in Goa, the Pai Kane Group has grown into a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing enterprise with a presence in the UK, UAE, and multiple locations in India, including Goa and Banda. Since establishing its first manufacturing plant in 1989, the Group has steadily built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality generator sets, electrical panels, and custom-engineered power solutions across various industries and geographies. The Group’s Banda unit is critical for its global manufacturing operations and employs approximately 400 people. The unit is also integral to the Group’s contract manufacturing and export initiatives. Notably, the Pai Kane Group has been a recipient of multiple Export Excellence Awards continuously since 2013–14, underscoring its performance and reliability in international markets.
Innovations and Capabilities
In a presentation made to the GMA delegation before the plant tour, the Pai Kane leadership team outlined the Group’s wide-ranging capabilities, including:
- The development and manufacturing of generator systems for global OEMs.
- Their patented Glass Reinforced Polymer Canopy — an innovation that offers significant advantages in terms of strength, durability, and noise attenuation, while also being lightweight and corrosion-resistant.
- Operations across three key manufacturing units — in Goa, Banda, and the UK — as well as a commercial office in the UAE, supporting their international clientele.
The presentation was followed by a guided tour of the manufacturing facility, including the Caterpillar assembly line, their contract manufacturing line highlights the Group’s capabilities to deliver complex solutions for global clients and the generator systems assembly line, where the Group’s flagship products are brought to life with precision and efficiency.
The Pai Kane Group’s operations at Banda reflect a strong commitment to sustainability and green manufacturing. The delegation observed practices such as:
- Integration of energy-efficient technologies in the plant
- Compliance with international quality and environmental standards
The visit began with an interactive session where GMA members engaged with the Pai Kane leadership team on topics such as innovation in product development, skill development for the manufacturing workforce, and global competitiveness of Indian engineering companies. Members appreciated the transparency and openness with which the Pai Kane team shared their journey, challenges, and plans.
